An FBI Identity History Summary is a federal document. It is authenticated in Washington by the US Department of State, not by Delaware, and it runs on a different clock.
Every other document on this site is a Delaware record, authenticated by the Delaware Secretary of State. An FBI Identity History Summary is issued by the federal government, so no state can authenticate it. It goes to the US Department of State Office of Authentications in Washington.
That matters for two reasons. The turnaround is materially longer than a Delaware apostille, and the document has to be obtained before anything else can happen. Anyone who tells you a state can apostille an FBI report is about to waste your money.
Bring your FBI Identity History Summary to the Dover office and we will handle the federal route.
Priced on request. An FBI order has three separate components: our fingerprinting and handling, the channeler’s fee for the report itself, and the federal authentication fee. Those are quoted as separate line items so you can see exactly what is ours and what is the government’s.
Our fingerprinting service is $65 for the appointment including one card. Call us with your destination country and deadline and we will put the full figure in writing before anything starts.
