DOT drug testing collections, mobile or at our Dover office.

A qualified collector under 49 CFR Part 40, handling pre-employment, random, post-accident and return-to-duty collections for Delaware carriers.

What we collect, and what we do not

We perform DOT urine specimen collections under 49 CFR Part 40, Subpart E. The collector is qualified under 40.31, which means documented training plus five consecutive error-free mock collections, refreshed every five years.

We do not perform breath alcohol testing. That requires a separately certified Breath Alcohol Technician and an approved evidential breath testing device, so if your program needs an alcohol test alongside the drug test, arrange that through your provider and we will handle the urine collection.

We also do not act as your consortium or third party administrator. Your specimens go to the HHS certified laboratory your employer or C/TPA designates, and results are released by a Medical Review Officer, not by us.

What actually happens at the collection

  1. 1Photo ID checkThe driver presents government issued photo identification. Without it the collection cannot proceed.
  2. 2The CCF is startedWe open the Federal Drug Testing Custody and Control Form with your employer and DER details before anything else happens.
  3. 3Collection and temperature checkThe specimen is checked for temperature within four minutes. An out of range reading triggers a second collection under direct observation.
  4. 4Split into A and BThe specimen is split into a primary and a split bottle, sealed with tamper evident seals, and initialed and dated by the driver.
  5. 5Chain of custody closedDriver and collector both sign. The driver keeps their copy, which is their proof the collection was done correctly.
  6. 6Shipped to the labThe sealed specimens go to the HHS certified laboratory your program designates. The MRO releases the result to your DER, not to us.

Delaware Mobile Signings performs the specimen collection only. We do not run a random selection pool, act as a C/TPA, serve as your Medical Review Officer, or make Clearinghouse entries on your behalf.

Testing requirements are set by FMCSA under 49 CFR Parts 40 and 382 and can change. This page is not legal advice.
